Local Real Estate Trends: Things Are Improving

In today's Northwest Herald, an article highlights an improvement in the local real estate market. Here are some of the highlights from the article:

  • McHenry County home sales are up 28.4 % over last year
  • Median sales price on single family homes is up 2.1%

Bottom line...homes are selling.

In the Cary/Crystal Lake/Fox River Grove areas, low inventory is helping move homes more quickly from listed to sold.  If you or someone you know is considering selling their home, now is the time.

Another Reason Cary is Special

As a Cary resident, I am proud to know that we are taking steps to provide sports opportunities for children with physical or cognitive challenges.  So often, these children are pushed aside or left behind, but the Cary Soccer Association has chosen to give them the opportunity to embrace the game of soccer.

The benefits that this opportunity has for these children, and their families, is probably beyond measure.  For a child with a physical or cognitive challenge, the value of feeling included, socializing with others, exercise and learning new skills are invaluable to them and their families.

Additionally, Cary residents also have access recreational services through the Cary Park District and Northern Illinois Special Recreation Association (NISRA).

Notably neutral

Everyone has walked into a house and wondered what on earth the owners were thinking when they chose "those" colors.  When you're decorating your home, it's fine that you choose colors that fit your style.

But, when it comes time to sell, you need to choose colors that potential buyers can picture themselves in.  They like rooms that look fresh, relaxing, clean and move in ready.

Here are  few examples of nice, neutral colors from Benjamin Moore.  Click here to read a bit more about staging your home to sell, or check out this video
